Skins in Fortnite

Outfits, more commonly known as skins, are a type of cosmetic in the #1 Grossing Battle Royale game: Fortnite. Skins are used to change the appearance of your character which you use in-game. Now Fortnite has had a long history and to this date, there have been more than 450 skins and counting.

Presently, new skins come in nearly every week and Fortnite tries to imply a new design with each skin.

The first skins ever released were the Renegade Raider and the Aerial Assault Trooper in season 1. Some skins are exclusive and are limited to specific promotions. These are usually reskins of the actual variants, like the latest wonder outfit. Some skins are included in the battle pass. The rest are released in the item shop for individual purchase.

By default, you have the common rarity outfit selected. This is a random pick between 8 skins.

In the long list of already released outfits and new ones coming up, there have been only a few that have made a mark or set the standard high. Although, everyone has their own preferences and might not agree with my opinion. But I think these skins really outclass the others.

Here they are. In my opinion, the best Fortnite skins:

8. Recon Expert

Fortnite Skins

“Rare Recon Expert Skin.”

This was the first skin to be released in the item shop. It was released on October 30th, 2017 and made its last appearance on November 12th, 2017. It has been 597 days since it was last seen in the item shop, making it the rarest skin in Fortnite. Although it doesn’t have the greatest design, its rarity gives it the extra bit of kick to scare off your opponents.

7. Skull Trooper

Fortnite Skins

“Victory runs bone-deep”

The Skull Trooper was previously available for purchase from the Item Shop in October and November 2017, initially costing 1200 V-Bucks. It came back to the item shop on October 10, 2018, for 1500 V-Bucks. On its second appearance on October 10, 2018, in season 6, it came with two selectable styles – the green variant and the purple variant.

The purple variant was only granted to people who purchased the outfit when it first came to the item shop back in 2017, making them stand out from the other skull troopers. Owning that purple style just makes you look swagger in front of other players.

6. Black Knight

Fortnite Skins 2019

“The odious scourge of Wailing Woods.”

The Black Knight is the last skin you could acquire from Season 2 of the battle pass. Fortnite couldn’t seem to achieve the greatest notoriety at the time, so a ton of players don’t have this skin. It is really uncommon, and a decent sign that you’ve been playing for quite a while. This skin was only available with the battle pass which was released on December 14, 2017. It was granted to players who made it to Tier 70 on the battle pass.

5. FishStick

Fishstick Fortnite

“Keep far away from Maki Master.”

Fishstick is a one of a kind Rare skin that was released in December 2018. It is an extremely amazing skin for the cost and is totally different from the other presently accessible outfits. Not just that, you also get the Saltwater Satchel back bling, which isn’t standard for the rarity.

The actual outfit itself portrays a Koi or Goldfish that has transformed into a humanoid, one way or another. In fact, the skin itself appears to be befuddled on how it ended up in this circumstance. On top of that, for only 1200 V-Bucks you receive three variants of the skin: the original one, the VR style, and the Pirate Style. It is surely one of the best skins.

4. John Wick

John Wick Fortnite

“Every action has consequences.”

One of the best skins to ever be released in the item shop. It was part of a promotion. The skin was released when John Wick 3: Parabellum and Fortnite had a crossover. This skin is the most accurate design of any real-life character. It depicts Keanu Reeves, playing John Wick in the movie. This skin was a legendary item at a cost of 2000 V-Bucks. Its release date was May 16th, 2019 and it made its last appearance on June 29th, 2019. It skin has two styles: Normal and Damaged Style.

3. Black Widow

“Whatever it takes.”

The first ever Marvel Skin to be released in Fortnite. It was part of the Avengers: Endgame promotion. The skin launch integrated a new rarity into the Fortnite World: Marvel. Yup, that’s right, it had its own rarity. It was listed at 1,500 V-Bucks in the item store. Being a portrayal of the actual movie character, it is one of the most unique skins in the game. It was released on 25th April 2019 and made its last appearance on 6th May 2019.

2. Perfect Shadow

Best Fortnite Skins

“Become the ominous shadow.”

Part of the Shadow Rising bundle, the Perfect Shadow is one of the best skins in Fortnite. Its design is magnificent and eye-catching. The skin is based on a dark theme. Although it is a reskin of the cloaked star, the color combination is far more pleasing to the eye. It might not be the rarest skin, but it surely has one of the coolest designs.

1. Peely

“Go bananas.”

Have you heard of the idiom ‘going bananas’? Well, this Fortnite skin defines that accordingly. It’s a banana, basically. How else can I possibly describe it? It was part of the rewards you could earn for buying the Season 8 Battle Pass. It was announced on February 28, 2019.
