RFRSH Entertainment, the company that organizes these BLAST events, recently announced that BLAST Pro Series Global Final is going to feature a juicy half a million dollar prize pool.
This announcement basically brings the total prize pool to $2.25 million for the year. This event is supposed to end this year’s season, which means there will be many more (seven, in fact) regular tournaments. On each of these, the prize pool will total $250,000.
BLAST Pro Series Global Final will be held in December at a yet unknown location. You will be able to see four teams that are the best performers. That’s according to a point system introduced this year by BLAST, at least.
The event will feature a single-elimination, best-of-three format. The victorious team takes the majority of the pool – $350,000, and the title of BLAST Pro Series season champion.
According to the organizer RFRSH Entertainment, the seven participating teams “will each play 5 BLAST Pro Series tournaments”. Basically, this means that Astralis skips two of the four events held after Madrid, as they are the team with the most trophies in BLAST history.
The current BLAST Pro Series leaderboard looks like this:
Astralis
Team Liquid
NiP
FaZe
MiBR
NaVi
Cloud9
