The US university located in Texas, Concordia, is looking for experienced gamers. More than 100 universities throughout US and Canada offer positions in Esports teams. Starting this fall, Concordia University Texas will no longer be an exception.
They will be sponsoring two popular Esports games – Overwatch (an online first-person shooter) and League of Legends (a well-known online battle arena).
Concordia’s graduate Marc Valdoria, who’s an expert in both games will lead the first Concordia Esports teams.
CTX’s Director of Athletics, Ronda Seagraves, said Concordia will be joining NACE (National Assotiation of Collegiate Esports). NACE is a member-driven organisation focusing on developing Esports on collegiate level.
According to Dr. Don Christian, CEO and President of Concordia University Texas, planning and building a number of esports arenas on campus is already underway.
