DDoS attacks can be common in other places but in Dota 2?
Valve has recorded thousands of service (DDoS) attacks in the Dota 2 community over the past 2 years and has found it unavoidable to prolong taking action into hands. In a yesterdays presentation at GDC, Kassidy Gerber openly interprets about DDoS attacks, mentioning that they will happen again and that Valve must take a stand.
Kassidy also adds that the developers should act ASAP, games of our players are being jeopardized. We all believe that Valve has several dozens of solutions on that front, inclusive of proficiency to hide the IP address, or even reroute traffic in the occurrence of a DDoS attack.
As these solutions may be in Valve’s disposal, we still can’t go back in time and save the games of our Dota 2 community from despicable DDoS. For all we can do, is hope that Gaben is listening, and that he will acknowledge our prayers.
