ESL (Electronic Sports League), an event organizer and production company announced a partnership with an American sports channel Big Ten network. This ESL and Big Ten Network collaboration will launch the BTN League of Legends Season.
This event will see fourteen Big Ten schools fight, starting out on February 16th.
This BTN LoL Season will be a part of Riot Games’ College League of Legends Season. It is set to finish between March 28-31st, as this is when the BTN League of Legends Championship Tournament takes place.
The winning team will forwarded to the LoL College Championship, and the second place will get to enter a play-in tournament with two best teams from Big East.
As previously mentioned, this ESL and Big Ten Network partnership will feature 14 Big Ten schools:

- Indiana University
- University of Maryland
- University of Michigan
- Michigan State University
- University of Minnesota
- University of Nebraska
- Northwestern University
- Ohio State University
- Pennsylvania State University
- Purdue University
- Rutgers University
- University of Wisconsin
Big Ten Network’s Vice President Ering Harvego said: “We are delighted to partner with ESL on the third season of BTN League of Legends competitions. By partnering with industry Esports leaders like ESL and Riot, BTN is able to provide the highest level of content, promotion, and visibility for collegiate esports competition.”
Collegiate Esports is a great way to get involved in the industry. ESL and Big Ten Network are both well-known, and by doing this they give a great opportunity for students to prove themselves and climb the Esports ladder.
