American Esports and entertainment organization, FaZe Clan, a male dominant Esports org broke their bro code on Saturday, with the announcement that they had signed their first ever female gamer – Faze Ewok!
On the 27th of July, FaZe took to Twitter to welcome the new member. Soleil ‘Ewok’ Wheeler or Faze Ewok, 13-year-old Fortnite expert, was introduced to the FaZe family with a caption stating: “Usually we surprise our new members, but tonight we got surprised with the best news. Join us in welcoming the first girl EVER to join FaZe Clan: Ewok.”
Ewok, who is only 13, is also deaf. She is certainly not letting this disability slow her down, though. She has built her name even before joining FaZe Clan with almost over 200,000 Twitch followers. She’s been streaming her Fortnite gameplay on the platform for the past eight months.
During her Fortnite gameplays, she’s played with top gamers including Ninja, DrLupo, and SpaceLyon, who helped found FaZe Clan’s Fortnite team. Faze Ewok is also the proud first deaf Twitch partner.
When introduced yesterday evening, she gave a very happy statement in sign language, stating that she was so very excited to be in FaZe. She praised the quality of the people on the team, saying everybody was wonderful. According to the Fortnite stats tracker, Ewok has 65 victories so far in Season 9; 1,335 eliminations and a 1.74 kill-death ratio.
It’s clear that Ewok’s pro career is only about to get better. FaZe is a platform that will certainly provide much more opportunities in the grandest of all stages. Being only 13 and already killing it, Ewok is definitely a pro to keep an eye on.
