Amongst the many shows that premiere on Netflix, only some have managed to make a great impact and gain popularity. Stranger Things, being one of them, is a Science-Fiction Horror web television series; starring Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink and others. An upcoming sequel to this breath-taking series is launching on Netflix on the 4th of July. But that’s not all. We’re getting a Fortnite x Stranger Things crossover! Here’s the nitty-gritty.
Netflix has reportedly partnered with Nike, Baskin Robbins, H&M and various other companies in order to promote this upcoming series. However, Netflix didn’t stop there. At E3, the biggest video-game conference in the world, Netflix announced plans of developing its own RPG game. Chris Lee, director of interactive games at Netflix, announced: “The game will be a location-based puzzle RPG, rendered in an “’80s retro, Saturday-morning-cartoon style.”
Well, at this moment you might think they have gone overboard with the series’ promotion, but the list keeps going. There are recent news from various sources and in-game files that we are going to get a Fortnite x Stranger Things crossover.
Woah… Doesn’t that already blow your mind? One of the most popular Netflix TV series and the #1 grossing Battle Royale game, Fortnite, are going to collaborate.
How do we know this?
The first hints at this crossover were derived from Netflix’s trailer, which showed Steve working at Scoops Ahoy at the new Starcourt Mall. Surprisingly, a shop with the same name appeared in Fortnite. Located at the Mega Mall, this is the new addition to the map in Season 9. Could it be a coincidence?
Well…. I don’t think so as there have been more leads to the crossover. Here are all of the leaks and clues that hint at this crossover:
If you go to the credits section on Fortnite you will notice Stranger Things/Netflix enlisted as a partner.
Furthermore, Data Miners noticed some new additions to the item shop in the game files.
These names, Chief Hopper and Demogorgon, are both characters in Stranger Things and are expected to make appearances in the item shop.
As you might already know, whenever Fortnite has a crossover, it usually brings some new challenges or map changes. If you recall earlier this year, Fortnite partnered with Marvel to promote the upcoming Avengers: Endgame and released a new LTM based on the movie.
As unlikely as it was, Fortnite x Stranger Things is happening. It would be interesting to see what new additions will come to the game as a result of this collaboration. For instance, fans are speculating the skin of ‘Eleven’ (Millie Bobby Brown) to appear in the item shop.
