The biggest event in gaming of the whole year (don’t slash my throat DotA fans please) is finally opening its doors. I mean, who doesn’t want to watch peak gamers and the most famous athletes in the LoL scene attempt to take home the grand prize – is etched in history as the winners of Worlds’ 2018 for all to see!

There’s also a hefty grand prize of $834,375 (yup, those five bucks are important too!) to satiate anyone’s lifestyle wishes. I’m joking of course, but that’s still a lot of money. A lot of good can come from this.

Okay so, LoL Worlds 2018 Preview. The gist of it. Ehh, that might be a bit difficult considering the format is a mess (in my opinion at least) but we’ll get through it together!

LoL Worlds 2018 Preview | Format

The champions of the four strongest leagues at the moment (which are KT Rolster, Fnatic, Royal Never Give Up, and Flash Wolves) are part of pool 1. The rest are all part of pool 2 (teams with enough championship points, whilst also including Team Liquid, the champion of NA LCS Summer, and Phong Vu Buffalo – VCS Summer Champion. Finally, there’s Gen.G who were the LCK Regional Finalists). That’s it for the group stage! You thought I was joking when I said it was complicated, didn’t you?

Next, we have the play-in groups which basically act as battlegrounds for teams that haven’t managed to get into the group stage now, but the chance is there through these groups. Pool 1 is comprised of EDward Gaming (LPL Regional Finals), G2 Esports (EU LCS Regional Finals), Cloud9 (NA LCS Regional Finals), and G-Rex (LMS Regional Finals). The remaining teams either come from weaker leagues or through winning certain tournaments.

After the play-in rounds (which will enable only 4 teams to get through to the main event) come the groups. Four groups with four teams. Two teams advance, the bottom ones say farewell. After this point, the format gets simpler with the classic rundown of the playoffs (quarters, semis, and Grand Finals).

What to Expect from LoL Worlds 2018 Tournament

Expect a completely bombastic and bonkers Worlds because the teams have never been this close to each other in terms of performance. We have Fnatic who are running full-steam ahead to clinch victory in this Worlds but I still think they need to improve a bit if they are to face the Asian teams properly. KT Rolster and Royal are incredible, and the Flash Wolves are looking majestic as well. Team Liquid and IG have a great shot as well.

The rest of the teams are all filled with great players, but I believe they won’t have a lot to look out for in this tournament, but who knows? Taipei Assassins were the major underdogs of Worlds 2012 and look what they’ve achieved! “All” it takes is a lot of dedication, skill, teamplay, gaming

eSports betting enthusiasts will be on the prowl as well, because this tournament presents a great opportunity to benefit from your love of gaming!

In any case, this would bring our LoL Worlds 2018 Preview to a close. Make sure you tune in on the action, because history will be made one way or another.
