E3 2019 was the perfect stage for EA Sports to prove that it was ready to release one of the most anticipated video games of the year, and wow, did they deliver. Madden NFL 20 may finally be the game that the sports gaming community has been waiting for.
For years, there have been many complaints among Madden fans that are seemingly addressed in this year’s edition of the game. One of the biggest complaints that has been addressed regards the lack of detail with the game’s specific superstars. “All the players move the same!” is definitely a common phrase associated with this complaint. There’s absolutely no reason why an offensive lineman should be able to keep up with a speedster like cornerback Patrick Peterson after he gets an interception. Luckily, EA seems to be making some changes with this.
With the new “Superstar X-Factor,” certain superstar players have different advantages over the competition. For instance, let’s say you’re playing with the New Orleans Saints and you get to use Alvin Kamara. Kamara has an x-factor called “Satellite,” thanks to which he is able to catch passes out of the backfield and move with more agility after the catch. Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback featured on this year’s Madden cover, has an x-factor called “Bazooka,” through which he can throw the ball ridiculously far.

What’s so impressive about these new x-factors is that they are very representative of the features that separate the superstars from the rest of the NFL players in real life. Hopefully, this new feature will greatly improve the quality of the game as a whole.
For the past couple of years, Madden has been using Longshot as its main story mode. However, with many complaints from fans and critics alike, EA Sports has decided to completely get rid of the mode and replace it with something seemingly better. The new career mode is called “Face of the Franchise: QB1.” The graphic provided by EA below should tell you everything you need to know:
Many features from previous years will certainly be included in this year’s Madden. Hopefully, these features will be polished in the final product. With brand new aspects and a fresh look, Madden NFL 20 is expected to be one of the best versions yet. If you want to see more, the gameplay reveal is attached below.
The standard edition of Madden NFL 20 will be released on August 2nd. The “Superstar” and “Ultimate Superstar” editions of the game will be released on July 30th.
