NRG Planning Changes with CSGO Esports Roster Following IEM Katowice

After the big event IEM Katowice Major, we’ll see NRG new roster emerge. After a rather underwhelming performance for such a team, they are wasting no time. They have announced that they took some interest in Tarik “tarik” Celik. Tarik is currently inactive and is part of team Made in Brazil.

They are allegedly looking to swap their player Jacob “FugLy” Medina with Tarik after a very disappointing IEM Major. They finished on the 16th place and ended the tournament with a spectacular shock of a 0-3 score.

Tarik did have some difficulties on his own, failing to meet the expectations of MIBR. However, in January 2018 he contributed to the winning of a Major with Cloud9. This means that his stocks and reputation are still high.

FugLy was certainly not the NRG’s worst player. He was better than both Damien “daps” Steele and Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov, outperforming them in raw statistics. The problem is, it’s not as easy to replace those two. daps is the in-game leader and CeRq is a star player and the main AWPer in the team. This makes FugLy, unfortunately for him, the easiest member to replace.

Tarik has been inactive for quite some time. Whether this move will have any positive effect is debatable, since he’s been benched from December 2018.

But, on the other side, he was the in-game leader for Cloud9 on their Major run (which they won). His experience and chill attitude may be the things NRG new roster needs in the times like these.
