The British player Smooya leaves BIG after some thought and a mutual decision. In his place, BIG brought back nex, who has been replaced by Ismailcan “XANTRES” DörtkardeÅŸÂ in late December.
The reason why nex left the team beforehand was that he had to undergo wrist surgery and potentially had a long recovery process underway. However, although he has to continue regular therapy, surgery will not be necessary and he will be able to continue playing.
Head of CS, Nikola “LEGIJA” Ninić explained that the core reason for this split are key differences in playstyles.
10-year-old Smooya had been part of this group since April last year. His most notable performance was helping his team to a runners-up finish at ESL One Cologne in July. He also helped them reach Legends status at FACEIT Major in September.

Nikola LEGIJA Ninić has said the following: “It’s not always easy if you are the only foreigner in a team. We had some different opinions on how to approach the game and team development and it turned out that his and the teams not align. I’m sure that he is a great addition to any top team and I personally and the whole BIG family wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.”
We wish both Smooya and BIG all the best in their future endeavors!
