After the disappointment which was the 2016 season for Schalke’s LoL division, some changes had to be made. The roster changed, the playstyle changed, and slowly Schalke started making an impression on the public. Their eSports playing improved dramatically and 2017 was a much better year.

They ended 2018 with a bittersweet high; being second only to Fnatic in the EU LCS (which is amazing considering how young the LoL division is) but they failed to qualify for Worlds’ due to losing against G2 eSports.

Basically half the team has changed in favor of a stronger, more aggressive playstyle. The first player Schalke signed is Felix ‘Abbedagge’ Braun, their new midlaner. Second, we have Lee ‘IgNar’ Dong-geun who is a support.

FC Schalke 04 eSports are pretty close to signing the top laner of Splyce, Andrei ‘Odoamne’ Pascu, but the deal is yet to be finalized.

Their jungler is also new and some of you might be familiar with him – Jonas ‘Memento’ Elmarghichi. Yup, that’s right, he already played for Schalke back in 2017.

Dylan Falco is the coach, and you definitely know him from his Fnatic coaching days.

The only unchanged player is Elias ‘Upset’ Lipp; the star AD carry!

That’s about it for FC Schalke 04 eSports’ transfer window!
